This will be a national event which will bring together leaders in research and industry from across the UK in conversation with the general public. We welcome a broad range of views from everyone interested in the future of the Internet and the digital economy.

The keynote address will be given by John Varney, CEO of Maximum Clarity and former CTO of the BBC.

The forum will feature an open panel discussion with cluster researchers and industry leaders, moderated by Gareth Mitchell (Digital Planet-BBC World Service). Panelists include Dan Appelquist (Vodafone), Nick Leon (Design London), John Barr (451 Group), Prof. John Darlington (Director, Imperial College Internet Centre), Prof. Dave deRoure (University of Southampton), Dr. Gary Graham (Manchester Bussiness School), John Hand (EPSRC).

Imperial College Internet Centre

The Imperial College Internet Centre was created in 2005 to develop the applications and industries of the next-generation Internet. The Centre continues and expands the activities of the London e-Science Centre.

The Internet will clearly continue to grow in importance and complexity as an economic and social arena. To meet this challenge, the Centre promotes a research agenda in which the economic, social and legal dimensions of the next-generation Internet are equal partners with computing and technology.

The Internet Centre also works closely with leading commercial and academic stakeholders in the next-generation Internet, such as Vodafone, the BBC, and the London Science Museum.
